Nordplus junior

Nordplus Junior, is a programme from the Nordic Council of Ministers to stimulate and ease co-operation in-between schools in the Nordic countries.

Guide for application to Nordplus junior in Swedish.

The purpose of the Nordplus Junior programme is, through Nordic school partnerships, to stimulate interest in, knowledge about and understanding of other Nordic cultures, languages and ways of life, so strengthening the Nordic dimension in compulsory schools and upper secondary schools in the Nordic countries and autonomous areas. The programme is also to promote Nordic solidarity based on our shared values, democracy and approach to people.
Via Nordplus Junior, schools across the Nordic region are able to seek funding for exchanges between students and teachers. The programme is targeted at compulsory schools/primary and lower secondary schools and at upper secondary schools.

The funding only takes the form of travel expenses :

1. Exchanges between classes or groups. The participants must come from at least two different countries or autonomous areas in the Nordic region. The purpose of the exchange must be educational and based on school work. It is a condition of the funding that a large part of the educational work is carried out within the virtual workplace which the Nordic Schoolnet will provide.

2. Teacher exchange (jobswap) between at least two schools in different countries. Support is also given to teachers who spend a period of time travelling around to different schools in a another country, teaching their particular subject.

3. Workplace training and experience for individual students on vocational courses in minor crafts.
